Summer Jacket Ideas
Hello Summer!
Today I want to show you how easy it is to still wear light weight jackets and look chic during upcoming hot summer months. Here are some simple summer jacket ideas and pointers for choosing jackets or blazers to wear this summer:
- Always Choose light weight and breathable fabrics like cotton, rayon and linen.
- Pick lighter and brighter colors
- Wear more relaxed and casual bodies
- Be open to three quarter sleeve, short sleeve or sleeveless jackets
- Wear shirts as lightweight jackets
For today’s look, I have styled two of our light weight jackets that will work nicely for you this summer.
The first jacket is our Olive Two Pocket Cargo Jacket which I first styled for you here. This is a fun casual cargo jacket that looks great with jeans, shorts, skirts or even over a tank dress. It has all the cargo jacket style features plus a drawstring belt inside which you can leave loose or pull in and tie to cinch the waist.
For the second jacket, I chose our Lemon Drop Jacket which is a really pretty pastel shade of yellow that is perfect for summer. This jacket is a little more structured than the Olive Cargo Jacket, but the fabric is still super soft and light. The cascading collar in the front is very pretty and the no closure front makes this jacket an easy throw-on piece.

I wanted to find a top that works with both jackets for today’s look, so I chose our Ivory Gray Orange Short Sleeve Floral Stripe T Shirt which looks great with both jackets. This is another best-selling rayon lycra top and the floral print colors in the front are very pretty and pick up on the colors of both jackets very well.
I chose to wear them with my skinny jeans and folded the bottom of the jeans for a summery cropped look. My cognac color shoes, belt and bag work well as accent colors. To finish off today’s look I added our Gold Tone Hoop Earrings with a Ball Slider with are another of my favorites!
