Our New Mondrian Inspired Print Jacket
We returned from our wonderful European trip last week and it has taken me a few days to really get into the swing of things. Those of you that follow me on my social media saw some of the fun experiences we were having on a daily basis. We had the most amazing time in Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp.
All cities that I have always wanted to visit and I would highly recommend for everyone to visit.(Email Me if you would like some tips for any of the cities) Over the next few weeks, I will do some blog stories about our trip, the places we saw and visited and of course what I wore. I want to apologize to all my blogger friends for being absent from link ups and comments over the last two weeks but I am back now and will make up for the lost time, I promise. This week I am sharing with you a look I have styled with our beautiful soft Mondrian jacket which is a sister to our Pollock jacket. When I saw the print on this fabric it reminded me of Mondrian paintings but in a neutral color way. Piet Mondrian who coincidentally was a Dutch painter from Amsterdam became famous for his geometric paintings in primary bright colors. These painting have influenced the fashion world many times over the years and a lot of designers have used his art and technique as inspiration for their print fabrics. The print I have used for this Mondrian jacket reminds me of his Cubist inspired technique without the bright colors, as this is a neutral black and cream print. The body is really soft and unconstructed and almost feels like a cardigan when you put it on. The good thing about the color way is that it can easily move into fall.
I decide to style it with a dress this time, as I don’t get to style a lot of our jackets with dresses very often, but I love this look. I am wearing it over one of my simple black dresses, that I have had for many years and I added one of our brand new necklaces that are now available here. Please take a new look at our jewelry section as we have just added a selection of gorgeous new necklaces this weekend that you don’t want to miss. The new Mondrian jacket is also available here.
