How To Transition Your Summer Jacket Into Fall

Most of us are still experiencing hot summer temperatures that will probably continue for at least another month or so. I thought this would be a good time to style our Blossom floral print jacket for a second time. I first debuted this jacket for you here, where I called it a “perfect summer” jacket.

Today I want to show you how you can take a “perfect summer” jacket and transition it into fall.

With just a few styling tricks you can easily take your favorite summer jacket into fall. Here are some pointers in how you can do that:

Wear it with a dark color bottom.
Add a light weight scarf.
Use darker color jewelry.
Wear it with booties, toe-less booties or closed toe shoes.
Layer it with a light weight long sleeve top instead of short sleeve or sleeveless top.
Button it up or belt it.
Use darker color makeup for your lips, eyes and nails to help with the overall look.

Granted it is still 90 degrees in Los Angeles where I live and it was impossible for me to implement all these tricks in today’s outfit, but I know as we get into September and October I will use all of them for various different looks.

Today I am wearing the Blossom jacket with black shorts which are a bit longer and can easily be taken into fall especially if you add hosiery or tights to them. I can also see this exact look with skinny black jeans or pants instead of the shorts. Today I have layered it with a short sleeve top, but I will be wearing it with a long sleeve top later in the season.

I finished off my look with a black necklace and black sandals that cover most of my foot so they are similar to a toe-less bootie and I did not forget my big black Gucci bag as my accessory.
