History Of Women’s Boucle And Tweed Jackets

History Of Women’s Boucle And Tweed Jackets

Hello Ladies,

Before I get into today’s blog story about some of the history behind boucle and tweed jackets – I want to tell you that TODAY ONLY

You can get 25% Off all our women’s boucle jackets, some of which are already on sale!

Use code:  BOUCLE25 at checkout!

It all started in 1954 when Coco Chanel created the first boucle/tweed jacket destined to become an iconic piece for the brand leading up to today. The jacket was originally inspired by menswear and meant to be more fluid to provide more freedom of movement. Coco’s intention was to release women from confining and uncomfortable pinched waist looks that was so prevalent in the 1950s.

Today the boucle jacket is still reinvented and redesigned every season by many designers who are inspired by this look. And it is still worn all over the world by different women on daily basis without it looking outdated.

I think most women who are lucky enough to own an original Chanel boucle jacket know better than to get rid of it as they are an real investment piece. They will never go out of style and you can wear in so many different ways.

Here are some examples of how you can wear them today:

  1. Pair them with jeans and T-shirt look
  2. Wear them over a dress (day or night)
  3. Over leather pants or leggings and boots
  4. Date night look with pants/skirts and high heels
  5. Use accessories like strands of necklaces and a great belt to update the look

This is why I feel all women should own at least one boucle/tweed jacket, and I try to offer new ones in our shop every season. Currently we some great options in our shop, both for fall and spring. Below I have shared a photo of each jacket and the link below which will take you to the product to purchase. I hope you take advantage of our one day sale to grab one of your favorites.

Happy Shopping!
